Back Office in a Tab allows users to launch PeopleXD Back Office (Oracle Forms) directly from PeopleXD Evo. Back Office opens in a new browser tab alongside the user’s Portal dashboards and uses single sign-on, so a separate Back Office login is not required.
Users accessing Back Office exclusively through the Evo tab do not require Java to be installed on their machine.
Benefits
Single sign-on: Use one login to access both PeopleXD Evo and Back Office.
Side-by-side access: Switch between Portal dashboards and Back Office screens within the same browser session.
No Java dependency: Java is not required when Back Office is accessed exclusively through the Evo tab.
Existing access is maintained: Standalone Back Office access remains available for users who require it.
Before you start
A user must already have a Back Office account before Back Office in a Tab can be configured.
The user's Portal account and Back Office account must also be configured to use the same employee record.
This configuration is completed once for each user.

For detailed instructions on configuring the required Portal and Back Office accounts, please refer to the additional guidance.
Things to be aware of
IP restrictions
Back Office in a Tab does not bypass existing IP restrictions.
The user must be connecting from a whitelisted IP address for Back Office to open successfully in the Evo tab.
If the user's IP address is not whitelisted, contact your Access Group account representative to request an IP whitelisting review.
File downloads
Files generated by Back Office forms, such as reports and RPN files, are downloaded automatically to the browser's default Downloads folder.
A different save location cannot be selected when the file is downloaded. If the file needs to be stored elsewhere, move it manually after the download has completed.
Local and network file paths
Back Office in a Tab runs within a browser environment. Browsing to or entering local or network drive paths is not supported.
Review any organisational processes that previously relied on selecting or entering local or network file paths. Where a process is not yet supported in the browser-based experience, use the standalone Back Office application.
Troubleshooting
I cannot find the user's Back Office account in PeopleXD Security
A Back Office account is required before Back Office in a Tab can be configured.
If you cannot find the user under Security > System Users > All Back Office Accounts, check whether the user has an existing Back Office account.
If no account exists, create the Back Office account before configuring Back Office in a Tab.
For instructions, see Create a Back Office account.
Back Office opens in a tab, but the forms are blank
This can occur when the user's Back Office account does not have the required CoreHR Objects Object Profile.
In PeopleXD Security, open the user's Back Office account.
Check the assigned Object Profile.
Confirm that CoreHR Objects is assigned.
If the profile is missing, add it to the account.
Ask the user to sign in to PeopleXD Evo and launch Back Office again.
