With the upgrade to PeopleXD Evo, user management now integrates with Access Identity. This changes how user accounts are created, how users log in, and how security is managed across your system.
User management integrates with Access Evo
User accounts are automatically created in PeopleXD Security from your employee records. You can continue to use the user management area to define system access through menu profiles.
User accounts automatically sync to Access Evo as member accounts, where Access Identity manages user authentication, including:
Login methods such as email and password, two‑factor authentication (2FA), or single sign-on (SSO) via OpenID Connect (OIDC).
Security policies such as session, authentication, and password management.
Forgotten password management, which users manage on the login screen.
Email address is the unique identifier
In PeopleXD Evo, the login experience uses email address as the verified unique identifier for each account holder.
As part of the update, all users sync to Access Evo with their email address as their new login ID. Users receive an email invitation to complete their first time login through Access Identity.
📌 Note: If a user doesn't have an email address, you can create a username account for them. However, this provides a limited authentication experience.
Automated email invites for account setup
Users are automatically created and invited by email to complete their PeopleXD account setup. How they complete their login depends on your Access Identity security configuration.
You can define rules in PeopleXD Security to control when the invites are sent and exclude groups if needed.
You can manually resend invitations to any user who hasn't completed their setup, for example, if they can't find the original invite.
⚠️Important: The PeopleXD Security Self Registration feature is no longer applicable in PeopleXD Evo.
Accounts deactivate automatically for leavers
Subject to your existing leaver profile rules, a user's account is automatically deactivated when an employee is made a leaver.
By default, the employee's account becomes inactive the day after their leaving date.
If you use PeopleXD leaver profiles to provide access for a defined period after their leaving date, the employee can continue to log in until the end of that period. During this time:
They have access to their limited view of PeopleXD.
They have no access to other Access Evo products.
📌 Note: During your upgrade, only active employees sync to Access Evo.
PeopleXD employees sync as members
PeopleXD employees sync to their Access Evo members record. A member is the name of the user account for Access Evo. This ensures that if you use other Access Evo connected products, your employees already exist as users and only need their permissions updated.
If you already use Access Evo for another Access Group application, the PeopleXD user syncs to the existing member account using the email address as the unique identifier.
IP restrictions apply at module level only
PeopleXD Security allowed system-level IP restrictions. In PeopleXD Evo, restrictions apply only at module level. This means a user can log in to Access Evo but, if module restrictions are in place, they can't access the corresponding PeopleXD dashboards.
PeopleXD Security screens reflect Access Evo sync
Updates have been made to PeopleXD Security to reflect how user management aligns with Access Evo and Access Identity.
This includes:
New categories on the System Users screen for Access Evo users.
An updated user account view showing whether a user synced successfully, whether they completed account setup, and the option to resend their invitation.
Password policy profiles are no longer applicable to PeopleXD and are now replaced by Access Identity security profiles.
The Self Registration widget is no longer applicable and is replaced by the default automated invitation process for new users.
