The Lock System feature allows you to temporarily prevent all users from logging in to PeopleXD. This is useful during maintenance periods or when you need to restrict access to the system.
You can set the system to unlock automatically after a specified time or unlock it manually. To do this, follow the steps below in Portal.
Lock the system
To lock all users out of PeopleXD, watch the video or follow the steps below.
π Note: During a lockout, users can access the login screen but see the lockout message when attempting to log in. Users on the exemption list can log in without issue.
From the dashboard menu, select Security.
Click the System Overview tab.
On the Current Status widget, click LOCK SYSTEM.
Review the message that confirms your exemption status:
If you are not an exemption, you will be locked out and unable to log in to unlock the system.
If you are an exemption, you can continue to log in while the system remains locked.
Configure the unlock settings:
To enable automatic unlocking, turn on the Automatically Unlock toggle then in the Hours to Remain Locked field, enter the number of hours.
To require manual unlocking, turn off the Automatically Unlock toggle.
In the Lockout Message field, enter a message that will display to users who attempt to log in during the lockout.
Click LOCK SYSTEM.
Once locked, the Current Status widget will display the following:

Unlock the system
To manually unlock the system, follow the steps below.
From the dashboard menu, select Security.
Click the System Overview tab.
On the Current Status widget, confirm the status displays Locked.
Click UNLOCK SYSTEM.
The system unlocks immediately, and all users can log in.
π Note: You can manually unlock the system at any time, even if the Automatically Unlock toggle is turned on.
Manage system lockout exemptions
Exemptions are user accounts that can log in while the system is locked. Add users to the exemption list before locking the system to ensure they can continue to access PeopleXD and unlock the system if required.
Add an exemption
To add a user to the exemption list, follow the steps below.
From the dashboard menu, select Security.
Click the System Overview tab.
On the Current Status widget, click LOCK SYSTEM.
Click the Exemptions tab then click ADD EMPLOYEE.
From the Person drop-down menu, select the user.
Click OK.
The user appears in the exemption list and the number on the Exemptions tab updates to reflect the total number of exempt users.
Remove an exemption
To remove a user from the exemption list, follow the steps below.
From the dashboard menu, select Security.
Click the System Overview tab.
On the Current Status widget, click LOCK SYSTEM.
Click the Exemptions tab.
Beside the user you want to remove, click REMOVE.
The user is removed from the list immediately.
