π Note: The following information is only related to customers using Access Button inside PeopleXD. If you use PeopleXD in Access Evo, see Access Evo: Grant access to PeopleXD non-production environment.
The way you access your PeopleXD UAT environment wonβt change as part of your PeopleXD Evo upgrade, but there are additional steps you need to take to grant UAT users Access Button access.
There are four steps to this process:
Create your PeopleXD employee: Your employee record should already exist on your PeopleXD UAT system. Your initial basic training covers this step. If required, complete this step in PeopleXD.
Enable access to the Evo Configuration widget: This step ensures your UAT admin account has access to the settings required for this task.
Choose authorised non-production users: This highlights specific users as suitable for accessing your UAT environment. Complete this step in PeopleXD.
Assign XD Product Role in Access Evo: Ensure the Access Evo member has the PeopleXD product role. Complete this step in your Access Evo UAT environment.
Create authorised non-production users
Before users can access your UAT environment, you need to authorise them in PeopleXD. To set authorised users for non-production environment access, as a PeopleXD admin, follow these steps.
From the dashboard menu, search for and select the Evo Configuration widget.
Click Authorised Users then click Add User.
Select a user from the list then click OK.
π Note: A clone from your production environment to your UAT doesn't overwrite the list of authorised users.
Grant access to the Evo Configuration widget
To grant users access to the Evo Configuration widget, you need to enable the following menu options on their menu profile.

Assign the PeopleXD product role in Access Evo
Once a user is an authorised non-production user, you can grant them access to PeopleXD in Access Evo.
π Note: You need to be an Access Evo administrator to complete these steps.
To do this, follow the steps below:
In your UAT environment, click Access Button
.
Click Spaces then select a space.
Click the Members icon, then search for the relevant user.
Click the three-dot menu then select Manage Roles.
From the PeopleXD role list, select User then click Save Changes.
The user can now log in to your PeopleXD UAT environment and see Access Button instead of the old-style PeopleXD dashboard navigation.
