Monitor and review compensation decisions

Monitor all compensation allocation tasks in the cycle, move the cycle to the Review stage and evaluate managers' proposed decisions, assess budget impact, and ensure alignment with your organisation's pay philosophy before finalising changes.

As an administrator, you can monitor all allocation tasks in the cycle to track progress and ensure alignment with your organisation’s pay philosophy. Once all tasks are marked Ready for review, move the cycle to the review stage to assess managers decisions, budget impact, and overall alignment before finalising changes.

Monitor manager tasks

Open the dashboard menu in PeopleXD and select Pay Planner.

  1. Open the relevant cycle and click the Allocation tab.

  2. Click Watch submissions then review all managers' tasks.

  3. After monitoring and making any adjustments, ensure all tasks are marked as Ready for review.

  4. Click Start Review to close the Allocation Stage.

The managers tasks screen gives administrators access to three components to review managers’ tasks:

Pay decisions

Review manager decisions for consistency, fairness, and equity, and complete the manager task if needed, following the same process as above.

Key highlights

Review decisions that are highlighted as possible deviations or outliers from what the pay philosophy suggests and see budget breakdowns by task.

Submission status

Monitor the status and progression of each task. Clicking View Task to make adjustments or complete manager tasks, if required.


Review stage

The review process brings together all compensation decisions made during the cycle to give you comprehensive oversight and control.

Understanding Holdback Budget: If you defined a holdback budget during cycle setup, this reserved portion of your total budget was intentionally withheld from manager allocation. During the review stage, this holdback budget becomes available again, giving you flexibility to make strategic compensation adjustments where needed.

Your main tasks during the Review stage are to:

  • Run an impact analysis to assess proposed changes.

  • Review all Compensation Decisions against budget and pay philosophy.

  • Make adjustments using available budget, including holdback funds.

  • Finalise the review to proceed to communication.

To review and finalise compensation decisions:

  1. Click Review compensation.

  2. Before making any compensation adjustments, generate an impact analysis to understand the full scope of proposed changes. Click Begin impact analysis.

  3. Once the impact analysis is complete, review and refine compensation decisions by clicking Show Details for each section.

  4. To see more information or make adjustments, click View task or Open breakdown.

  5. When your review is complete, click Start communication to close the review stage.
