Complete compensation allocation tasks

Review compensation allocation decisions for each employee, then accept or adjust the recommendations before submitting them for manager review.

Managers are responsible for completing the compensation allocation process for the employees assigned to them. Additionally, if you have a manager as a direct report, once they have submitted their tasks, you need to review them.

During this process, you’ll review personalised guidelines made for each employee based on the combination of their company's pay philosophy and each employee's data.

Review compensation decisions

If you're a manager, you need to review your team’s compensation recommendations before submitting them. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. From the dashboard menu, search for and select Pay Planner.

  2. Click Open task then click Ready to start.

  3. Review the information on the Adjust pay for my assigned employees screen.

  4. To submit for manager review, click Complete task.

The Adjust pay for my assigned employees screen contains the following fields to assist you in reviewing your employee compensation pay decisions:

Filter

Select an attribute to group the table by.

Budget

The allocated amount updates dynamically as you make inline changes in the table. When there are employees belonging to multiple segments in a task, a budget segment picker is displayed.

Analyse decisions

Run an analysis on the current state of compensation decisions, view your breakdown of eligibility, and submit for review.

Value

Double-click a value to enter a new numerical value.

Three-dot Menu

Access additional details about an employee, such as compensation breakdown, justifications, and employee details.

Columns

Select the columns to display in the table.

Complete

To track your review progress, mark employees as complete. This is optional, only visible to you and doesn't affect submission.

Justification

Where you've made adjustments to an employee, add a note to justify your deviation from the guidance.


Review manager compensation decisions

If one of your direct reports is a manager, you’ll also need to review their submitted decisions.

Before they submit, you can monitor their progress, make sure they’re on track, and offer support if needed. Once they’ve submitted, review and approve their recommendations. To do this, follow the steps below.

  1. From the dashboard menu, search for and select Pay Planner.

  2. Click Open task to access the checklist.

  3. Click Task submitted.

  4. Review the information on the Review pay for everyone in my org screen.

  5. To submit for admin review, click Submit for review.

The Review pay for everyone in my org screen gives leaders access to three components to review managers’ tasks:

Pay decisions

Review manager decisions for consistency, fairness and equity, and complete the manager task if needed, following the same process as above.

Key highlights

Review decisions that are highlighted as possible deviations or outliers from what the pay philosophy suggests, and see budget breakdowns by task.

Submission status

Monitor the status and progression of each task. To make adjustments or complete manager tasks, click View Task.
